Mikve Israel-Emanuel Synagogue

The Jewish community in Curacao dates from 1651.

The Mikve Israel-Emanuel Synagogue is one of the oldest in continuous use in the Americas. Its floor is covered in white sand, recalling the Jews' wandering in the desert, and its mahogany furniture is original. A Jewish Cultural Historical Museum is next door.
